Volunteer Position - On Line Promotions

We are looking for a volunteer.

On Line Promotions (volunteer position)

About us: 
The Louise Multicultural Community Centre (LMCC) is a not-for-profit community centre situated in Box Hill, Victoria, Australia.  Our centre was established in July 1983. We offer a range of programs and activities.  Please see our website on www.louise.org.au for more information.

Position:  This is for someone who will be able to do research on tools such as Facebook; Twitter; LinkedIn; Buzz and Blogs etc. The purpose is for LMCC to be able to improve our promotions and marketing to the business and community sectors.  The position will be voluntary for 3 months.  Hours: 10 - 15 hours per week, to be negotiated. This position can also be shared between 2 volunteers and can be done from home although regular contact with LMCC staff is important.

Duties Include:
Our Volunteer Coordinator will mentor and support you to:
1.      Research and assess online tools.
2.      Research and assess appropriate applications for LMCC.
3.      Develop an implementation plan based on findings aligned with the LMCC Mission; Purpose and Strategy for Social Inclusion
4.     Develop a Training Plan for volunteers and staff

Requirements:
  1. Some knowledge of Facebook and tools such as Twitter and YouTube
  2. Ability to undertake research
  3. Ability to organise findings such as for any project
  4. Understanding of Access and Equity and ability to build this into the project
  5. Ability to work as part of a team
  6. Ability to work towards and meet deadlines
  7. Ability to communicate through verbal informal discussions
  8. Ability to present findings to the Board (support will be provided)
  9. Ability to train others to use the tools (support will be provided)
Prior experience:  is not a requirement as this is a learning process for our organization and we would like you to join us on this journey. A project Brief will be provided as well as training and support to the lucky volunteer(s).
